Research plan
The Research Plan Towards 2026 was developed to guide our research activities and align them with the needs of our jurisdiction.
Developing a Research Plan
Australia’s workplaces are changing. We need applied research that helps us address new and emerging challenges to workplaces and the health and wellbeing of workers.
It has never been more important to forge powerful partnerships with other compensation and safety schemes, academia, as well as public and private industries to invest and trial research in real life settings. This research informs and improves future policy and practice.
To develop the research plan we engaged extensively with our stakeholders to help us better understand and respond to their knowledge needs now and in the future.

Research themes
We identified 4 research themes to drive new and better ways of enabling safe and healthy work.
Our research projects each support 1 of the 4 identified themes which contribute to our purpose of enabling safe and healthy work. Select a theme to see the current research projects we are leading or are involved in.
- Enabling healthy and safe work
- Facilitating mentally healthy workplaces
- Fostering work participation
- Adapting to the future of work
These research themes enable us to prioritise potential research opportunities that align with the needs of our jurisdiction.
