Safe and healthy work

We support you to provide a safe and healthy workplace and meet your obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.

A safe and healthy workplace is one where employers and employees work together to support and promote health and safety at work.

Comcare supports mentally healthy workplaces through research, partnership projects, and advice to employers.

It's important to understand risk and recognise hazards so you can prevent harm and injury in the workplace.

There are legal obligations when an accident or incident which is notifiable occurs in the workplace.

If your organisation has a major hazard facility or conducts high risk work then you may need a licence, authorisation or registration.

You need to notify Comcare of certain situations. These involve hazardous chemicals, lead, annual plant maintenance and asbestos.

Exposure to asbestos and some dust conditions can be a health risk. Organisations have legal responsibilities to protect the health of their workers.

Comcare supports evidence-based research designed to prevent harm, promote work health and safety, and improve participation and productivity.
