Enabling your participation

Your accessibility at and inclusion in the Comcare National Conference is important to us.

Do you have access or support requirements? Please let us know when registering online so we can make reasonable adjustments to help you participate fully in the conference.

Our conference will be held at a fully accessible and inclusive venue.

National Convention Centre

Facilities

  • An accessible venue for people using wheelchairs and other mobility aids
  • Accessible bathrooms on both levels
  • All-gender bathrooms
  • Accessible parking available onsite
  • Close to accessible public transport
  • Assistance animal friendly
  • Close to Glebe Park where assistance animals can take breaks

  • Pre-conference orientation highlighting venue accessibility features
  • A designated contact person onsite

Conference information

  • Accessible mobile app
  • Conference program to indicate sessions which involve interaction with speakers or fellow delegates.

Conference sessions

  • Room attendant to coordinate any additional assistance
  • Printed copies of presentations available in each theatre and meeting room
  • Public address (PA) systems
  • Hearing loops available in all spaces except the main foyer and exhibition hall.

Additional supports and adjustments

We can also provide the following upon request:

  • An Auslan interpreter
  • National Relay Service
  • Hearing loops in the main foyer and exhibition hall (for specific locations within the rooms)
  • On-screen presentations to be supplied in advance of the conference
  • Reserved seating in theatres and meeting rooms such as at the front, or close to the exit or other facilities
  • Reserved space for assistance animals and mobility aids.
