Revision of Comcare Permanent Impairment Guide - consultation is now open

The draft Guide to the Assessment of the Degree of Permanent Impairment (Edition 3) and associated consultation documents, including a summary of changes, are now available for review and feedback.
Last year Comcare consulted with stakeholders on the proposal to adopt the national Permanent Impairment (PI) Guide template developed by Safe Work Australia in 2015.
We also sought a deferral of expiry of the current Comcare PI Guide as a Legislative Instrument until 31 March 2023 to consider issues raised during the stakeholder consultations.
In consideration of stakeholder feedback Comcare has decided to remake the current guide without adopting the national guide template at this stage.
Consultation on the PI Guide (Edition 3) closes 14 October 2022.
